Journey Today

April 4. Tuesday Night.

Hi Journey.

Most times these days I find it easier to choose a path, then switch gears once it's clear we're going the wrong way. When I started Crystal Designs I'd stew for days over the simplest decisions; like the time it took me three weeks to stop wishy-washing and pick the type of paper to print the office letterhead on.

Today I think--OK, Journey, I hope --I've learned to do a better job of listening to my staff, calling for a couple of opinions, then just deciding. It's been that way with the Brentwood sisters' remodels. Everybody's contributing a little piece to the project, and it's my job to mostly just double-check that we're keeping both sister's best interests in mind all the time.

I've added a few suggestions regarding specialty lighting in the Mrs. Dr. Ruice's sister's home, but other than that I've let Viv and Dana and Shelly handle things.

It's made for an easier week.

No Bloom Team meeting today; we'll try and shoehorn one in next week. Overall, an uneventful day at the shop.

Carmen is settling into life in Tokyo . She Skyped me this morning at Six my time; Eight at night over in Japan . She still sounds pretty beat from the trip. Of course Percy is just flat-out at SetCo. All three kids have jumped right in—Carm told me they think of it as an adventure. Of all the avalanche of new things the kids are being exposes to, they just love riding the subway. Carmen tells me it's about three times as big as the New York metro system, but actually quite a bit easier to get around. The color-coding on the lines helps the kids, and the subtitles really aid the adults.

Casey's
Cool Facts

No crises, yet. Missing them already, more, actually, after I hung up.

I'm brewing up a cup of coffee for myself before I turn in. You know I never caffeine-up this late, Journey, but I feel like having just a couple of sips before I turn in. Plus tonight I'm going to switch habit and add a single dollop of cream.

No stirring, of course.

Goodnight, Journey.
