Journey Today

April 9. Sunday Night.

Hi Journey.

Journey, I am eternally doomed to a lack of enough sleep--at least on Saturday nights when Eddie and I hit Big Mike's and then play a game of cards with Shelly and Dirk. I think I rolled into Whitby sometime around Two this morning.

We played at the shop; kind of weird sitting around the table at Tethered Helium knocking back a beer and playing Duck. It's an odd little card game Dirk drug along with him when he moved down from Wisconsin a few years ago. It's perfect for a Saturday night when your full of steak and don't want to concentrate on much of anything except hanging out with friends. The game has both a high luck-factor and an easy way to set your friends.

Especially sneaky web-designer boyfriends.

Actually, he's pretty close to completing the new and improved Crystal Designs website. The big unveiling is slotted for next week.

OK, first I'll receive a private showing. I don't need any surprises when I'm sitting in front of the staff at a Bloom Team meeting. They'll grill me enough on it, anyway.

Good Sunday school class this morning. And yes, I was on time. I don't think the kids noticed that my eyes were still full of sleep when I arrived.

I feel good about teaching, Journey. Sure it's a hassle prepping for the lesson each week; but passing on what I've learned is important. Plus, I guess it's something I can do to contribute. Some way I can give back, just a little.

Today I was struck with the big inspiration to hold class outside. The sunlight was just pumping through the basement windows this morning and I felt I'd burst if I had to stay cooped up in there on the first true Spring Sunday morning we've had all year. Yes, Journey, I cleared it first. The kids were simply ecstatic to be allowed to drag their chairs outside and plop them down underneath the big cottonwood that's out back of the church.

Cool Facts

OK, I guess there was a bit of a scuffle. Tee tripped Jack Heckstrom as they were toting their chairs across the grass. She didn't do anything as blatant as sticking a foot in front of his ankle—nothing way obvious like that. Instead she feigned dropping her chair.

Oh Journey, she was Oscar! See, Jack had been making fun of the blue jumper she wore. And it was a bit small on her, Journey. I'm sure it was a holdover from last Spring. Tee's mom is fun-loving but fastidious and I just bet she's waiting until next week to parade her oldest daughter about in her new Easter dress.
