“He doesn't have his own?” I asked.

“No. But he does download a lot of good music. I do listen to music on it, Crystal . Life's not all study, study, study.”

“Aren't you afraid of getting a virus on your computer?”

“I have a top-notch anti-viral and spyware program. Julian installed it on my laptop before he left. He says it's the same program NASA uses.” She paused a moment, then asked: “Hey, how come you never use an iPod when you run?”

“I like to hear the birds.”

“Yeah, speaking of, I gotta fly, Crystal . Time for another wreck-dive.”

And so she's safe, Journey. At least for today, she's safe.

And I did go for a nice long run tonight after we chatted. But I only heard crickets.
