Journey Today

February 23. Thursday Night.

Hi Journey.

Nobody really finds customers alone, somewhere there's always hidden a helper just out of sight. Usually we call these unseen referrals, but sometimes I think of them as an entrepreneur's guardian angels.

Shelly's right about Brentwood , of course. We need to sell our way in there. But it's the one section of town where I don't know one guardian angel.

Maybe that's just because I haven't looked hard enough.

Journey tonight I borrowed a page from Mattie and hung up an oversized map of Brentwood and surrounding areas on a wall in Tethered Helium. Brentwood is a newer subdivision, bordered by a highway, a small creek a cemetery and a park.

The closest client we have is two miles north, in Briar Creek. The houses there cost about 60% of a Brentwood home.

How do I penetrate??? I need to find some fluttering wings out there…that one person who has some type of tie into that neighborhood. Awfully tough, I know, but there's got to be a way to attract a GA to my shoulder.

But just now I'm stumped; can't dredge up a marketing idea to save my sanity tonight.

Dakota called. Tomorrow night's date number four with Beemer-man. She's nervous, but what else is new. I remember once at Chapin House—I think we were juniors—she was fretting so much over a simple Saturday night date she switched outfits four times before settling on a little blazer and jeans. That girl winds herself way too tight.

I calmed her down, reminded her that it was OK to just be herself and most importantly to make sure he took her to a really great place to eat. Sounds like they'll go to Sparks over on 46th. Mom treated Carm and me there once, before the munchkins came along. Fantastic steaks.

After all, never know if there'll be a number five or not.

Goodnight, Journey.
