And each time I acutely felt pullback from her. She didn't voice any type of hurt of displeasure—she was waaay too professional for that. But both her eyes and her posture trumpeted the fact that I was blowing it. At one point she was slumped way back in her chair. Not the way I script the first sitting at all. Most Snapshot Sessions conclude with the client scooted forward on her chair, elbows planted on my desk after she's told me about her family and shared her dreams and then she finally listens as I gently answer her needs with the roughest outline of the reality we can create for her. I feel I rescued the session. Thank the Lord for Dad's example in sales. He taught me you can always start over with a couple questions that center on the client's family. Family focuses their mind away from whatever negative energy you've let pollute the sales call. Plus it gives you time to regroup while they talk on. So we talked family. Again I queried her about her kids, and how they had enjoyed the Family Room in the past and were there any special spots in the Family Room now that Lexie and her husband might want to maintain as a rec area for future grandmunchkins? Or did they want to convert the whole space into a Den and Library? That perked her up and lifted her out of her slouch and engaged her in the session again. But it was close. Fortunately, I had a trump card. There was one section of the Family Room that was inviolate: the aquarium. Lexie's oldest is interested in diving and wants to go on a trip to the Pacific this summer. I volunteered I knew just the perfect pen-pal for her to correspond with to get the inside scoop on just about anywhere she wanted to go in the Pac Rim. Too close, Journey. An attorney like Lexie has allies in so many spheres both business and personal I can't let that happen anymore. Infinitely better to just completely pull my ego off the office walls. |

Maybe instead of prints I could digitally enlarge some of our success stories from former clients? Might work well, actually. Have to bring it up at a Bloom Team meeting; but maybe I'll wait until next month. We've enough going on with Tea Times this month, plus my visit to Mattie in four weeks. Clock just clicked over to Midnight. It's the officially the Sixth. I'm going to sleep, Journey. I've said Mom's vine verse the last three nights when I go to bed. It seems to help with the dreams. If I am having any, I don't remember them. Good night, Journey. Goodnight and God bless. God bless us, every one. |
