Journey Today

Eddie took me out for a hot chocolate afterwards, and although he didn't make any notes I did observe his usual routine of counting the seconds each transaction lasted. I didn't say much, and Eddie is typically male and just talks more to fill in the gaps when I'm in pout mode. Mostly he talked about his week. He worked over seventy hours last week, which maybe explained why he wanted a little time outdoors. Too many hours living by the light of a laptop drives even a die-hard coder batty.

He droned on about the new shopping cart; seems like the backers for the site are lining up several sales already, and really pressuring Eddie to get the cart done soonest. He's not spent much time with his mom.

So I suggested we go over and see her. So we did, on Saturday. Had a lovely time. Her hip is mending, and actually she walks with hardly any limp. She ran an errand and left the two of us alone in the apartment. She made a point of letting us know she'd be gone for at least a couple of hours. I'm not sure if the two of them set me up or if Eddie really didn't know his mom was going out or if she just decided on a whim to give her son's relationship a bit of a push but of a sudden the two of us were alone in a private place for the first time.

Except for in my car, but that's hardly a private place when you're 27, Journey.

We stayed out of the bedroom. I'm still just not ready to go there with him. No yet. And yes, Journey, it has been a long dry stretch but there's a time and place for all things and it wasn't the time and place for me and Eddie.

We did push that couch to its limits, though.

Rest of weekend was uneventful. Saturday and Sunday ground through paperwork at the shop. Tea Times suck down all my available time for vendor contact, bookkeeping review, and any type of advance planning I can do with clients. I've almost nailed down Judy Dodgson's garden bridge, but need to confirm final design with Shelly later this week.

I doodled out three or four designs for a new business card with the bridge theme, too. “ Crystal Designs: Your Bridge betwixt Home and Office”. Nothing spectacular. Yet.

It's a start. Probably should run by Bloom Team, though. Think it best to wait until February, after I'm back from Mattie.

Going to bed early tonight, Journey.
