January 24. Tuesday Night. Hi Journey. Vivian is a sore loser. It was a game of office poker with Dana, Shelly and Joni over lunch time that started it all. She bet stupid and was out after two hands. She pouted for an hour. Maybe I should print out Carm's pout-rules and tack them to a wall in Tethered Helium. But that's just today's minor problem. Every time I rush around and pop into overdrive and skip over the Bloom Team it ends up bad. Not disaster-bad, but certainly embarrassing-bad. Every time. Crystal , when are you ever going to learn? It was just a simple ad in the Neighborhood Newsy . Nothing more. Just our slogan: Your Bridge Betwixt Dream and Reality. That, and our name: Crystal Designs, above our phone number. I double-checked every word 3 times. Phone number. I transposed two digits. How stupid stupid stupid! can I get? OK, don't answer that one, Journey. Plenty stupid, I know. |

Should have run it by team to see if they even felt the ad was worthwhile use of our marketing money. Not that running in the Newsie costs a ton, but right now there's no need to siphon off even one extra every dime; specially this month, with the added expense of my SF trip and the lost client time. Real mistake in not using the team was I'm not sure this Weekly reaches our target market. Maybe by being in this space we are just going to attract the Do-It-Yourself crowd. Might as well follow Shelly's idea and start selling paint. Of course, second error was not running a proof of the ad past Joni or Shelly to doubleplus check it was mechanically sound. Two goofs in one day. Only thing left to do is Fess-up. Which I'll do, next time team gets together. We didn't have a Bloom Team meeting today; still juggling the last of the Tea time appointments. We'll meet after I get back from California. |
