Journey Today
October 20. Thursday Night.

Hi Journey.

What is sad is that my vendors, my staff, and I never can agree on anything. One innovative idea that came from the WriteBack postcard's “wish-list” section is that many clients would like to see a “before and after” album or video of the projects they've hired us for. Bloom Team met this morning, and decided it was an idea worth implementing. So far, so good.

Well, Brady advises I should buy a state-of-the-art $700 digital camcorder with a big hard drive; Shelly wants to try out a mini-disc recorder. Joni flat tells me we don't need to spend any money on a capital purchase just now and thinks the two digital still-frame cameras we have are plenty good enough until we have a bit more cash dribbling into the business.

Life is perspective, eh Journey? Brady's a computer and electronics gadget gearhead, but I don't have anybody that can easily transfer images and manipulate the video. His reco seems best if we our goal was to create slick video montages of before and after scenes from the rooms we rehab.

But Shelly knows the clients and the real, immediate need is simply to find a serviceable solution. We need to be able to point and shoot and burn a DVD for our clients and archive a copy for ourselves. That's sufficient for now.
